The Department of Community and Economic Development works to strengthen the long-term economic well-being of the City of Flint by promoting affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, business development and job growth. The Department utilizes a number of federal, state and local grant and loan packages to aid in the community and economic development of the City.

COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
ATTENTION! PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE GENESEE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
A 30-day public comment period for the proposed Genesee County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) will be held from Monday, January 25, 2010 through Tuesday, February 23, 2010.  The proposed CEDS is available for public review and comment at the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission Office located at 1101 Beach Street, Room 223, Flint, MI, and on our website
(PLEASE CLICK HERE). Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Comments may be made in person or by mail, telephone, facsimile or e-mail.  Additionally, the proposed CEDS will be available for public comment at the Main Flint Public Library, 1026 E. Kearsley Street; the Genesee District Library, G-4195 W. Pasadena Avenue; the Genesee County District Library located at the Genesee Valley Center; and at all local municipal offices.
